NEW YORK/SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Wal-Mart Stores Inc is rolling out a new line of cosmetics by Hard Candy, hoping to dazzle shoppers with glitter eye shadow and volumizing mascara by a brand that is sold at more upscale retailers, like Sephora.

At a launch event held on Tuesday in the penthouse suite of Manhattan's trendy Bryant Park Hotel, Wal-Mart showcased the line, which will be introduced in 3,000 of its U.S. stores in September. It will be rolled out internationally next spring.

The new line is being made specifically for Wal-Mart.

The cosmetics will range in price from $5 to $10, or $6.40 on average, and are designed to appeal to 18- to 35-year-old women who are looking to have fun with their makeup.

"The more bells and whistles, the more excited our customer will be," said Carmen Bauza, vice president of beauty for Wal-Mart.

APPEALING TO HIGHER INCOME SHOPPERS

Wal-Mart has said it is attracting higher-income shoppers to its stores as recession pressures household budgets and consumers adopt a frugal mind-set.

But investors have questioned its ability to keep those shoppers once the economy improves and customers have more money to spend. Wal-Mart has been adamant that it will retain those new shoppers and plans to do so by introducing new product lines, like Hard Candy.

"New, higher spenders have found Wal-Mart," Bauza said.

At the event in Manhattan, editors from Glamour and ELLE magazines browsed the line, and attendees were able to sample the products, like gold lipstick and bright green eyeliner.

This is not Wal-Mart's first fashion foray. In 2005, it tried to compete with smaller rival Target Corp by placing ads in Vogue and hosting a show in Times Square during New York Fashion Week.

It downplayed its discount roots, and stocked its stores with more upscale merchandise, like high thread count sheets and skinny jeans, hoping to mimic the success Target found selling cheap-chic merchandise.

But the efforts backfired with its core lower-income shoppers, who wanted basic goods at discount prices, and the retailer admitted it moved too far, too fast.

As the recession changes the face of Wal-Mart's shoppers it is revamping its merchandise selection. It has been expanding its selection of name brand electronics, and now sells an exclusive line of clothing by Miley Cyrus & Max Azria.

I just had to get this! 8 new colors that are not even sold individually! The colors are great! I love sphynx! I bought this when it was a limited release on the UD site.
Also if you spent $60 you got these freebies plus a midnight cowboy shadow and a bourbon eyeliner! Woo Hoo!
When you open up the book there is a little book on the inside that shows pictures of some UD looks. Most of the looks are old looks =( I like the old pop out look better. I would rather the book came with ideas for the new colors or something else but not what it came with. Its rather silly.

Released beginning of July, the Color Sensational lipsticks by Maybelline are a must have! They smell like Taffy! They are around $7.0 a piece but if you can catch a bogo deal, it is so worth it! It comes in 48 colors. I was able to view 16 colors. This collection also has a lipgloss side. I do not think the lip gloss colors are as nice as the lipsticks and they do not smell the same.

Honey Nectar provides a nourishing feel as well as moisturization. It is also made with pure pigments.

Depending on which shade range you are in, there is a matching cap. So a red color has a red cap and a pink color has a pink cap.

Lush Hair Doctor + Sugar Scrubs

The sugar scrubs are awesome! The top is is Sugar Babe Scrub and the lower is Sugar Scrub Sugar. The bottom has fennel ginger and lavender. I reminds me of a less potent Karma scent. You break off a piece and rub on! After is washes off it leaves your skin feeling so soft. It feels just like after you take a bath with a lush bath bomb. The top has coconut oil and mimosa blossom. The inside also has a pink core! I put mine in metal containers or old lush containers since they do not come with a container. I highly suggest trying out of these out!

I love the lush hair doctor! It smells and feels so good! It gives this awesome cooling sensation! I used a quarter of the container on my head. They would suggest to use half but I did not. It is expensive considering for shoulder length hair would only get you two uses. It has mud and several oils in it. My hair felt extra soft after!

Missha M Signature Radiance Two-Way Pact + Make-Up Base + Foundation

As I said earlier so for the lack of posts, moving to NYC is taking up a lot of time =) Thanks for understanding. Anyway...

The Missha M Signature Radiance Two-Way Pact is so pretty. It contains a micro bead powder which aids in a soft focus effect and multi-reflection. It also makes for a super flawless coverage.
- It has Mineral and botanical Collagen which provide moisture and nutrients.
- Containing Astazanthin and Polylift that makes your skin healthy and radiant.

It has a soft floral fragrance.
I went with color 21. It really is a very nice powder and after wearing it all day my face did not get oily! It blends like a dream!

The make-up base is on the left and foundation is on the right. Although the base has a greenish-white tint, it does blend in completely. The foundation blends nicely as well but it leaves my skin with a more yellow tint.

If you were to wear all three of these products, you face will become an oil slick. I personally just like powders but the makeup base did allow my powder to stay on all day!

Hello to all my readers! Sorry it has been so long since I posted. Almost two weeks! I have so much to show you! I have been so busy.

Anyway, Maybelline just launched a new lipline called color sensational! It smells like Taffy! It comes in 48 colors. There are so many nice colors! One of them is a soft purplish but with cameleon glitter. It is gorge! Depending on what type of color, there will be a matching cap. They are priced nice too! I highly suggest tryin them out.

I was fortunate enough to be a tester for this product before it was launched. I knew it was this product since it was the only pulse mascara to be put on a cheaper brand.

Personally I never saw a difference with the Lancome oscillation mascara and I returned it. I truly want to see a mascara wand that rotates 360 degrees. This way it will actually brush it for you and pull out clumps.

Anyway, I saw no benefit to the pulsing. The mascara formula was descent but not near the lengthening of Stilletto or as voluminous as Colossal.

The pulsating was more like a massage for my eyelashes =) If you want to try something fun and could not afford Lancome Oscillation, it might be something worth trying.

I just had to post on the shoes! They are too cute! I got them for $15 at Payless shoes! I could not help myself! They have cupcakes, eggs, a beater and a recipe on them! PLus they are white and pink! You can fold the back over for more pink!

Just in case I ever need to make cupcakes, I have the recipe on my shoes!! Tee-hee! =)

MAC Style Warrior Lipglass in Liberated + L'oreal ColourJuice Go Go Pop

I love the new Mac lipglass in liberated. It is the same formula but with a yellow tint. Unfortunately it takes a good three coats to show the yellow tint and that also means that you would have a lot of gloss on your lips. Even when you do 3 coats, within 10 minutes it looks like a normal clear shimmer gloss =(

I am really just not a fan of lipglasses I guess. The ones I like are the odd colors which are never dark enough.

Loreal Colourjuice in Go Go pop #455. I got this from a L'oreal speciality store. It was hard for me to find. But it clear with an orange tint and orange glitter. It looks really rockin when its on. Same great formula too.

The Privacy Curl Keeper Spray is an interesting item. The innovation and thought behind the project is great. Essentially a hairspray for your lashes! All you do is spray is on your curler, let it dry a little until it starts to get tacky and then curl your lashes. Well this product does work great and I did see a difference at the end of the day when compared to my other eye that just had the curler and no curl keeper. The only problem is that the amount of alcohol in it seems high as it can burn the heck out of your eye! Use it with caution.

Etude House Glow Base SPF 36 PA++. I love this stuff! It smells very soft and light like flowers and has a pearl based shimmer in it. It lasted all day in the sun when I used it. I used it when I went to the beach. The only downfall is that if you need to use it a lot, it can be a problem because it is not a very large tube and it does not come in a bigger tube.
The concentrated Sun Guard is at the top of the hand and it is rubbed in at the bottom of my hand. The shimmer is very fine and it is not chunky and it gives you a nice soft sheen. I wish they made shimmer based sun block over in the US but they do not. Sunblock is boring but the tanners have fun scents and shimmers over here. Maybe I need to talk to some chemists lol!

I love the lip butters! They are thicker and less glossy than a lip gloss and not as shiny as the the lip shine. The lip shines are made with Peppermint oil and remind me of the orbit gums!

Beauty Rush Lip and Cheek Pop. This comes in three colors. I like the Peach and petal pink the best. The third color is a deeper pink. These are hard to get off on the cheeks. They are super matte.

They also have out new baked wet/dry eyeshadows. It comes in I believe around 12 colors. I purchased jade-a-kissed since it looked the most different.

I love the lip butters. They are not quite a butter but definitely not a gloss. They are a nice change for VS. The wet/dry shadows feel just like every other baked dome shadow and the pay off is just as nice. Also I love the taste and smell of all the new glosses!

As for the pool party scents: I love the lemonita! It smells like a sugary, vanilla lemon! The frostea smells like a fake over sweet tea (yuck) and the coolita smells a lot like coconut. Too much coconut for me.

The pool party collections sports glosses, body mists with out oil, shimmer gels, lotions, and nail polishes!

B Never to Busy To Be Beautiful Makeup by Lush + Brushes from Makeup Show

The Lush Be Never to Busy to be Beautiful Makeup line honestly is crap! The fragrances and soaps are great just like Lush but the makeup line! OMG!!

Here two lipsticks I got. I like the "B" on them. They are metal pieces that can be removed but first off the one of the left was like this hard waxy lipstick that just was so dry. I am requesting a return in fact. The coral color on the right has so much dye that is stained my lips and hands and makeup remover did not even work!

The eyeshadow palette is beautiful to look at and the packaging is so detailed. The colors are next to impossible to get them to show up! I was scrubbing with a brush an applicator and they barely show up!

This is the lip cream. Did not show up on me and the smell of the rose hip oil is so strong!! ahhh!!
This product I love. It is a mint lip scrub. It is made with a natural strong mint. It is on the dry side but it does exfoliate well.

The Makeup Show NY- New Brands + Photos

Took me a while to load these!! How about you? Don't give up! It's worth it!

So my hubby and I went to the makeup show in NY yesterday! It was amazing! There were so many mainstream and pro exclusive lines! All you had to do was show an artist card and your license! The discount were phenomenal! I highly suggest going next year! It comes to NY once a year. There is also a Makeup Show in Las Vegas and a bunch of other prime locations!

The Balm Line

Yaby! One of the best lines there. These are actually palettes. The shadows are half the size of normal shadows. The palettes were around $75 a piece. The colors are not cheap. They are super pigmented and are great for an artist collection. You can also just buy single colors and the mini pans to press your own shadows.

Hubby and I went to our first Korean BBQ! Really neat! All we had to do was order to "meats" and each table has a little grill and they cook the meat on your table! When you order an dish, they give you like 10 sides! You get 5 different types of cabbage sides, macaroni salad, lettuce cups, sweet beans and two different types of sauce! The place was called Shilla and it is on Korean Way.

This company is called Naimie's and they distribute and house all these amazing brands!

Anyone ever heard of OCC? Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics! Pigment type products that are really rich in color!

Naked Cosmetics

Auraline- A neat pro brand with really awesome choices in blush/eye colors. You can really find some amazing super matte colors that won't stain your fingers lol!

The brush company is really neat.

They make the brushes right there in front of you. They actually measure out the bristles. They wrap the bristles in paper and slide the paper over the brush holder and some how they lock them in. Then they measure them again and trim!

Crown Brushes was one of the highlights of the day! They have over 500 brushes to pick from! They sell synthetic, real hair, etc! They are a distributor of brushes for almost everywhere! They probably sell to Sephora! They just print the labels on them.

They sold the brushes for over 80% off! If you ever ever need a brush this is the place to go! All types of handles! Wood, plastic etc! you name it! Women were going crazy. It took like 10 minutes to just get in line to see some of them!

Highly pigmented color that needs to be activated by alcohol.

Well that was my day!

Eyeko Beauty Cream

This lovely cream came from Cherryculture.com. It was more than 50% off!

I loved Eyeko but unfortunately it is getting harder and harder to find in stores in the US.

Anyway this cream is multifunctional. It is a highlighter, moisturizer and eye cream.

It has a lot of shimmer! I mean a lot! I do not recommend it as a moisturizer unless you want to look like you put your face in a bowl of shimmer! Maybe if you put your foundation over it as use it as a primer it might work ok.

What I do is mix it with another moisturizer so that the shimmer is not so intense.

I like to use it as an eye cream or a highlighter. Look how pretty! Ohh la la la!
Look at the intense shimmer! Wow! Pop!

As a moisturizer it is not great because it dries quick and it is not very moisturizing. Also when it dries, your skin gets kinda tight.

Overall, I can't help myself. I think the product is so fun!!!

Homemade and Handmade Purse!

My hubby helped me make this purse! It is so cute!

The pattern came from a purse magazine.

The handles are from AC Moore as well as the Acrylic flower!

All cloth materials are from Jo-Ann Fabrics

The handmade badge has "Babies" written on. We call our family the "Babies" hehe =)

In between the orange polka dot layer is a harder white material that gives the purse stability.

It was made using a Brother's sewing machine.

It took about two full nights. Not bad for our first purse!

We are making another one that has lipsticks on it!

The little ribbon on the handle came with something that I ordered from Kim Tia. What a cute addition.

L'oreal Extreme Volume Collagen Mascara This

This mascara was a good safe buy. I paid $7.99 for it. I got it on sale at Ulta. The packaging was very bland. It was like they didn't even try.

The mascara contains hydra collagen which is known for its instant plumping properties. I think it is a great mascara but I do not think the collagen made any difference. For the price it is very volumizing and it does not flake or clump at all.

It has a larger brush than most mascaras. It has a similar smell to the Maybelline Lash Stiletto.

If you look at my post on the Lash Stiletto, it gives almost an exact type of effect as the L'oreal collagen mascara. I have two coats on and I curled my lashes!

I love this palette! I love pastels! The compact is so pretty. I love all the flowers on it. The case is made of metal and it is very sturdy.

The colors are not very intense and they have silver chunky glitter in it.
As you can see the colors are very light but I still think you can make this palette look great. It can give you a soft cute look. The glitter can come easily so I suggest using a primer.
The dear flower luminizer was a disappointment for me. I was hoping it was going to be like the "It Shiny" which has a pinkish tint. This one is a bright white shimmer. It seems to have the same formula as the others just with a different colors. It lasted all day on my face. It dries pretty quick and does not budge so you have to blend pretty quick.

The little wooden pots are neat and give a sort of rustic appearance to the product. However you have to unscrew them and they often do not tighten or loosen easily. The threads do not seem to match up great. Maybe I have a dud or maybe not.

You get a good size amount of product.

This color is called Bora Bora. It looks like a baby blue but when swiped....
It is a very light light blue/white. It has a lot of white and silver shimmer in it. The texture is similar to Jesse Girls eye shimmers. They are super fine and not grainy at all. It contains 3 different color micas.

Ever wonder why we do not have this Lush sister store in the US? It is due to that fact that many of the colors that are used in the UK are not considered to be safe in the US. Since many of the colors that B Never uses are not approved in the US, this brand will likely not be coming over. Lush is working on it coming over but if it does, it will mainly be their body products and not the color cosmetic products.

The creator of this line was originally a perfumer and so all of the eyeshadows, lipsticks and powders are scented! They have a scent that is more like flowers typically and not sweets. A typical large palette goes for $8 and small palettes as low as $4.0!

The main ingredients are talk, mica, mineral oil, magnesium sterate. The shades are very moisturizing and blend like a dream!!! I know the ingredients are simple and cheap but they work great. This formula is what a typical cheap shadow consists of. Also old formulas from the early 90's had similar forumulas.

They also make pearl, metallic or shimmer shades!

I am wearing one of my new many Amuse Palettes. These palettes are super cheap and super pigmented! The main ingredients are mica, talc, mineral oil, kaolin and FD&C dyes. Now to many people feel mineral oil and talc are cheap fillers and ingredients. It does not matter what a filler is. A filler is a filler is a filler! Personally talc I think it better because it has been around for years and has been trusted but too many women have complained about it and so cosmetic companies that they sell makeup at $7 a shadow have goten rid of this ingredient. I understand there are talc allergies. Also people have complained about mineral oil. Whats so wrong with mineral oil? yeah its cheap but it does not clog pores and it is cheap and filled with good minerals! Once again women have have decided that mineral oil is bad but in actuality it is better than most of the safflower and coconut oils which are major pore cloggers!
The Amuse company started out as fragrance company. So all of their cosmetics are scented which is nice. It is hard to find powders that are scented! I have on the sides of my eyes, a scented roll on glitter. Smells yummy and gives a nice touch to the look.
On my lips I am wearing NYX Goddess of the night gloss. It smells heavy sweet! So if you are not a fan of that avoid this product.

The Etude House Precious Mineral BB Pact comes in three colors. I bought the lightest one which may have been to light. It does not offer much coverage. I personally love this smell. It smells like flowers, vanilla, and white lilies. It has an SPF of 25 PA++. It kept my face dry all day!!

The print is very topical.
The precious mineral Brightener has three colors in the palette. It has a very interesting texture. It has three colors, pink, white and aqua. It also has a pearl design in it. I like to use each color on different parts of my face to make my face look different and different angles.

On the top is the three colors of the highlighter and on the bottom is the mineral powder.

These are both very reasonably priced ($10-$15). They are very fun pretty and smell great! I highly suggest trying them out if you can afford them.

BanilaCo Dear Flower Eyeshadow and Sonia Rykiel Trio Eyeshadow

This Dear Flower eyeshadow by BanilaCo is very nice! I love that they are kinda baked. They are soft and very shimmery. Sometimes you can have a good amount of shimmer under your eyes at the end of the day despite using a primer.

Up close with flash. So pretty!
When swatched the colors are very light but they remind of a super cool icy look. Like the Majolica Majorca Collection.
This is a new brand to me. This item was given to me buy Lotus Palace.

The textures remind me of BanilaCo eyeshadows. That is why I grouped these together. They all have a silver undertone and can leave shimmer under your eyes at the end of the day. I love this trio because its very bright.

My BF got me this palette from Sasa.com It is very affordable and offers so many color choices! The shadows are decently pigmented and sparkles all through out.

Its comes with several trio shadows, 4 blushes, a highlighter and a face powder.

The shadows are more talc based and are not satin.

I am loving the orange, yellow and pink trio. Each trio really is very nice.
A love the doll pink blush on the left. The highlighter is my favorite! Its good to even out skin tone and give you highlights!

The face powder is on the lighter side which works great for me.
There were so many colors to swatch. So I just randomly swatched a bunch of colors for your viewing pleasure.

Jadilla J Multi Face Cover

I got this lovely item from Kathi from Lotus Palace. She has such great taste with asian brands!

So this multi face cover is a really nice product. I actually like it so much that I replaced it with my skinfood banana concealer.

So the pot contains three different covers.

The top color on my wrist is the highlighter which is on the bottom left of the pot. It has gold shimmer in it. I put it on my upper cheek bones.

Middle color on my wrist is a very thick heavy concealer which I use under my eyes for heavy coverage. It is pale beige color. Its the top color in the pot.

Bottom color on my hand is a very thin light concealer. Its great for all areas on my face and its very light weight. The color is a very pale ivory and it blends like a dream and offers light coverage.

I highly suggest buying this product! It can purchased from Gmarket

Kawaii Crochet Bow Hair Pin!

Thanks to Kim Tia, I have been getting into crocheting. I am still a novice. I tried to make a cupcake with my bf and it looks like a huge tilting ice cream sunday right now. So after looking at the bow, I realized that this was more simple.

Basically a rectangle was made with a single crochet stitch, about 4 inch by 3 inch.

Then a strip was made that was two rows long. It was wrapped around the rectangle and a button was added in the center. Then everything was sewn together!

Lastly a bobby pin was sewn in on the back!

Ludanmei Eyeshadow and Blush Palettes

These palettes were purchased from Sasa.com and they were around $7.00 each and they are AMAZING! Super shimmery and super pigmented!!!!

This brand Ludanmei is based out of Hong Kong. This is all Sasa sells by this brand. They do have a website, and sell beautiful makeup!

The eyeshadows are made mainly of talc and mica.

The blushes are on the far left of my hand, the rest are eye shadows. I love the yellow blue and gray. They are so shimmery and pigmented for the price. I am so impressed. They are also very smooth and soft and with a primer last all day!
This the other palette that they sell. The shimmer also goes all the way through the shadow. Its not just topical at all.
Beautiful deep spanish colors! The very top colors are the blushes.

Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara

This stuff is crazy amazing! Just look at my before and after!

I just love how to tube looks like a black/red stiletto heel!
The mascara has a slight weird odor but not to bad. The brush is narrow at the end and wide at the top just like the heel. I am using soft black.
These are my eyelashes without mascara! You can see I have shorter lashes. A cosmetologist told me that I had medium length lashes and medium fullness.
BAM!!! After using lash stiletto! The length is crazy! It does not offer any thickening but it makes my eyelashes look crazy long!

At the end of the day, there is no smudging and no debris on my face! Definitely worth buying! Remember it is not good for providing volume so if you have sparse eyelashes this is not the mascara for you.

Lioele Natural Mineral Powder

I really like this powder. As you may have already read, I am trying to only wear non-comodeogenic powders. This powder has no talc, oil, or preservatives and is fragrance free.

It mainly contains zinc oxide, titanium oxide, carnauba wax, amino acids, vitamin E, and silver oxide.
The powder poof has a very soft velvet feel.

I went with #21.
When its rubbed in, it has a very soft feel. It offers a medium coverage. I also did not get oily when wearing it through out the day.

Bliss The Youth as We Know It, Anti-Aging Toner

This toner contains pH rebalancers, advanced moisture binders, Brightening multi-fruit complex, oxygen boosters, collagens, and elastin protectors.

Actual ingredients include: orange extract (brightener), lemon extract (brightener), maple sugar extract (brightener), saccromyces lysate (its a microbe!), sugar cane extract, sodium hydroxide (oxygen booster) etc.

I am not sure what every ingredient does but the few I mentioned, I know what they do =)

It has a slight jelly consistency and it turns into a liquid. It has a fruit smell like the whole line does. I really like the smell actually.
It does leave a little residue on your face. They say its a prep for the moisturizer.
It does a great job in removing dirt from your face! I paid $28 for it.

Pop Beauty Lid Pastel Palette AMAZING!!!!

I bought the lid neon and I loved it! So I thought I would try the lid pastels and wow simply amazing! They are super intense, super sparkly and super duo chrome! If you love girly baby soft colors, this is the palette for you! The applicator that comes with it is a normal cheap-o applicator. I bought it for $24 at Ulta. The eyeshadow is talc based and can fall off your eyes easily so where a primer.
The colors remind me of the hard candy delusional palette but a lot nicer and more intense.
The two colors that stand out the most are the purple on the left and the 4 color from the left. Its a coral pink. I have yet to see colors similar to these.
These last two colors have less metallic sparkle and more of a shimmer. These I have seen before.
Pop Beauty also came out with a whole primer line! Face lips and eyes!

They also came out with like 10 new palettes! Its a shame sephora pulled this line! Check it out girlies!

Covergirl Blast Collection Eyeshadows Eye Enhancers- Cheap off!

I just love the Covergirl Blast colors of the Eye Enhancers Collection! They are so vibrant and only $3.00 a piece! If you have a coupon to Ulta or somewhere else, you can get them even cheaper!

All of these colors are not super pigmented but they have a soft consistency and they can easily be as deep looking in color when compared to high end cosmetics, you just have to apply more. Also they all have matching glitter colors to the shadow color itself in them.

Tropical Fusion 205- I love this set! It is going to look so pretty in the summer!

Drama Eyes 222- This kit looks great at night. Very seductive!
Gold Sizzle 420- This color is very pigmented! Its looks super metallic and frosty!
Purple Pop 455- This color has a pretty pearl undertone.

Benefit Posie Tint

I have the original Benetint which gives a great rosy glow that lasts all day. So I thought I would try posie and I love it! It gives this beautiful pink doll like glow! Would probably go really cute with a harajuku look!

It lasts all day. Only downfall is that the color stains and dries quick so rub fast ladies! A little goes a long way and this bottle is filled! It has some sort of oily substance in it that allows the color to blend but the oil can be removed with a tissue.

I suggest to go out and try this! Hopefully soon they will give away free minis like they do with the benetint.

This is my favorite product, the lip butters. They come in 4 different flavors, PInk lemonade, Chocolate Mint, Peppermint, and Butter Cream. They are made with various healthy oils and sugar. I love them! A little goes a long way! It reminds me of the LUSH let them eat cake lip butter.

It gives a clear shiny wash on your lips!
My other favorite brand is Treat.

They make everything for your body and even mineral cosmetics. Everything is as organic as possible. It smells so good. Whatever you use by them is really like a treat! They are known for their bath truffles which are similar to Lush's bath melts.

My favorite product is the Cacao Lip scrub. Its made with Shea Butter, sugar, cacao, and almond oil plus a few other oils. It is a soft scrub but I like to put a good amount on and scrub like crazy! Anyway, this little tub will last a lifetime and its $14.00

The scrub is on my hand on the left. It does not smell like cacao but rather butter cream sugar.

If you are interested in trying some new boutique brands, I suggest trying these out!

MAC Creme De Violet Frost Eyeshadow

I really like the shadow color. It is a matte purple with bright gold flecks! Like most mac shadows it is very chalky and it stains your fingers! They claim it is a frost color but as you can tell below, its not. Hrmph! Either way, I thought it was different to find a purple with gold flecks.

I purchased it at the Cosmetic Company 25% off retail price. If you are not familiar with the cosmetic company (at least in the USA), they sell select brands at a discount of 25% or more. They often get limited editions stuff in too! So after it sells out, you know where to go!

The Body Shop Eye Color EyeShadow 42 Velvet Green NEW Color

I love this new color! It is an intense deep green black. Its super soft and very sexy. It glides on like a dream and is super blendable! A awesome color for a new twist to the smokey look!

It was only $12. I highly suggest looking at this new color. There are 3 new colors. I think the quality of their makeup has gone up since L'oreal bought them.

They are made with community trade marula oil to condition the eye.

Missha Super Aqua Detoxifying Peeling Gel, Missha Mineral Ball Powder

I purchased this on a whim because I love the Skin Food Morning Peel Gel and the Super Aqua can in the same size exact size and shape tube! Too my surprise they are similar! I only like certain types of peels. I like the one where you just rub it on and it peels. I do not like the ones that dry and then you have to rub them off because they get caught in my little peach fuzz hairs.
A drop of the peel on my hand. It smells refreshing and it has a cool feeling. Its made with fruit extracts, Green tea extracts, Milk extracts, and caffeine.
Within in seconds of rubbing on my skin, I felt a cool tingling sensation and the gel started to "peel" away from my skin. I definitely think its a keeper!
So I am really getting into mineral based makeup powders. They really are better for your skin since plain and simple they contain less ingredients. Most of them are non-comodeogenic, fragrance free, talc and or preservative free. Don't get me wrong they are not as fun but after a month of switching to these types of powders (foundation and blushes). I have noticed that my skin is not getting as clogged nor as oily.
I purchased the darker color. Once you separate the middle layer, they will be a little pouf that is used to keep the beads in one spot. They you can take brush and invert it over the beads and gently move back and forth to pick up the powder. It takes several dips in the beads to really cover your face. Once your face is covered, it offers a medium coverage. My face did not get oily throughout the day from it. Only where I used a non-mineral blush did my face get oily. Its a neat product but I prefer a pressed powder as it offers more coverage. But if you are looking for something that offers a medium overage and is a mineral powder, this might just be a good one to try.
The color is on the top of my hand . You can see where it is a little yellow. I have a more pink tone to my skin but it still worked!

Mac Hello Kitty Power! A really pretty pink with gold and iridescent glitter! As usual has an amazing staying power!
Mac Deep Blue Green- I am not sure if this was released before but it was released in this collection and I received a generous 5 gram jar!
Swatch- It is a deep black blue green. Very pigmented and very pretty!
Lipstick Fashion Mews- This is a pretty lavender frost that has an hello kitty face stamped on the lipstick. The only down fall and please correct me if I am wrong, the lipstick size is smaller than their normal lipsticks! I compared it to other mac lipsticks that are regulars and it is on average a 1/4 size less in length! Has anyone else noticed this?

So I went to try out the Moroccan Rose Collection at the Body Shop.

First thoughts pretty elegant simple packaging. The plastic that the eyeshadows/blushes come in remind me of Shu Uemura's newer cases.

I love the shimmery dusty rose color of the lipstick cases.

So I tried the whole collection and it was ok

The whole collection smells like rose! Like a real heavily scented Rose.

The Roseflower eye colors were ok. The sunshine gold is very light! Not like the girl in the picture at all! The Mint Eyeshadow is very pretty! However I have tons like it!

The roseflower radiance stick was very pretty as well. The formula is super soft! It does have a slight tacky feeling so that is why I did not buy it. The color is an intense light light pink shimmer.

Both Roseflower Blushes have gold shimmer in them which are nice. The fusia color is very pretty but very much like many blushes out there.

I really like the Pink color blush. It is shown below.

It is a baby pink with gold shimmer. You have to have a heavy swipe to get a lot of color.
I also purchased the shimmer cubes palette number 18. This is definitely one of the prettiest!
The colors are very shimmery and pigmented! I love love love them! The gray is a very pretty. It is an intense steel gray! The mint color is my second favorite! The pink and white shimmer are very hard to distinguish on pale skin. Either way this palette works great even for a highlighter!

Lancome Color Fever Gloss in Phia Black

So I have been getting into the idea of a light black gloss. The kat von D one by Sephora is great because of the sparkles in it but you have to apply a lot to get a little color.

The Lancome Phia Black gloss which they came is new was actually out a few years ago and it was a limited edition that was sold with a red lipstick. It was supposed to create a vampire look when black gloss was applied on top of a red gloss.

Well I just wanted the gloss. I found out about the existence of the color about two months ago and was really saddened to know that I could not get my hands on it.

But now... IM HAPPY! I love this color! One swipe of the color is the perfect sheer black. Two coats of it is way to dark for me and I look kinda weird but I bet on a dark skin that this would look great too! I am tempted to prep my lips with a nude gloss and then apply the color.

My complete look. From afar it looks like a deep red or a dark pink gray. That is because of my natural lip color underneath. I think I just might try to prime my lips first next time.

Either way, I highly recommend trying this color out. It is LE so get it while you can. You never know, you might be surprised when you see it on yourself!

Oh my the packaging! How we get sucked by its Prettiness! This pink color compact is an identical color to my car! No Kidding!
This eyeshadow trio is heavily pigmented! I love it! They are very shimmery! Make sure you use a primer with this one ladies! Otherwise you will be wearing the color on your cheeks!

The top color looks more like a khaki green. The middle is an intense light pink shimmer and the bottom is a midnight blue. I purchased this from an etude house seller on Gmarket.

These lipglosses are super dazzling! They are the most shimmery glosses that I have seen L'oreal ever put out! The glitter in them is all silver. These glosses offer a lot of shimmer, shine, and dazzle! I highly recommend trying one! They last about an hour before having to reapply like most glosses. The glosses have a sweet strawberry scent.

The Hip glosses are also really nice for the price! They are super pigmented. They are thick glosses but they last about 2 hours on the lips.

So I noticed that Sephora has the new glitter liner colors in as well as the new colors of the 24/7 liners. I was told by a Sephora rep that the cream shadows will not hit Sephora for another few weeks.
So I took a few different photos at different angles so that you could see the color.

I like this color because it is a pale pink and not a hot pink. The formula is just as great as all the others, it never comes off lol!

Skin Food SkinFood Black Sesame Hot Mask

I love this mask! I tried a sample of it and I had to buy it. As you rub it in your face, it creates a warming sensation. It is made of sugar and salt and sesame seeds amongst other fillers. The salt acts as a really good exfoliator. I left it on for 3 mins and after I washed it off my face definitely felt softer due to the exfoliation.
It may not look pleasant but it has a neat smell that I enjoy a lot.
When you put it on your face, do not worry you will not look crazy lol. It only is tinted a little black. I think I paid $12.90 for on sasa.com

Tony Moly BB Cream

Not much to say about this BB Cream. I bought it on sasa.com. Its a great match to my skin. It smells like flowers and I do not get oily during the day. I have been slowly pulling away from BB creams and foundations as they all have Comodeogenic ingredients (Pore clogging ingredients).

I love the way foundations and BB Creams make my skin look but truth be told I found this list online and in my text book and so many of the common ingredients in BB Creams and foundations are pore cloggers!

Either way I am slowly switching to the Neutrogena Mineral line, Clinique, and Almay as their brands offer several Oil Free, Fragrance Free and Non pore clogging products. Basically products that are not fun but that do actually protect my face.

I have been off the BB Creams for 2 weeks and my skin sadly is better! I have been treating my face with Salicyclic Acid and Retinol moisturizers everyday.

Either way back to this BB cream. The smell and texture alone sell me with the BB Cream. Its actually a great buy!

I have been looking for a sheer black or gray gloss and I found it! It makes for a really neat gloss! This is the first one I found! It just gives a new and neat look to any cat eye look or dark shade look.

The party animal is pretty neat too! Its an orange tint with yellow shimmer!

These smell sweet and last a normal amount of time. I like that the applicator wand. It is a clear plastic wand and not a white plastic wand like normal. I have to put on a few applications to get the color to show up so I suggest to buy the full size and not the minis.

The Face Shop Span Clear Matte Compact Powder

The Face Shop Span Compact is a nice simple compact. It as a pleasant flower smell.

Supposedly the powder has been formulated with tropical fruits that prevent dryness. The powder contains silicone that helps aid in water retention.

The powder does control sebum and and excess sweat. After wearing it all day, my face did not produce oil. It offers a sheer to medium coverage and it lasted all day without having to reapply.

The powder puff is very nice. I often think the puffs that comes with asian powders are better than the ones in the american powders. The asian powders have a velvet feel while the american powder puffs do not have a holder and they feel like terry cloth.
The color shown on my hand is number 21. It is the lightest color that they offer. It blends well it to my skin.

My only problem is that I remember the old cream shadows. Do you remember them? In the same tube? They were discontinued because they dried out so quickly and the cream shadow palette was an even bigger nightmare! They dried out and separated from the pans!

Side note: Did anyone notice on the Heavy Metal Glitter gels that there are expiration dates on the boxes? Mine was not due to expire until December 08 and I returned it in August because the gel had somehow turned into a liquid! I was really disappointed and not to mention that Sephora had tons on their shelves that had expired! They did not even know...or so they say.

Well anyway, the colors look beautiful! I just hope the cream shadow is a different formula!

Etude House BB Magic Mist - Disappointment!

Well I bought this because it said BB of course! I have the Etude House BB Magic Balm and the BB Magic Mousse in which I love both! However I thought that this item was going to give all the benefits of a BB like coverage, moisturization, help blemishes etc. But it does not offer any coverage at all. It is a sheer mist. Probably mostly made of water and alcohol. It really did not do anything. It did not help blemishes or anything! Its probably nice on a hot day or after a work out but sadly it just feels like I am spraying water on my face.

Skin Food Aloe BB Sun Pact

This BB pact has an SPF of 20 and it offers a medium coverage. It has a soft pleasant smell. It reminds me of the smell of grass but with a sweet hint. It offers all the great attributes of a BB cream. It offers moisturization and protection against blemishes. It has aloe and chamomile extracts and it a water based emulsion pact.

The color shown is number 1. It blends in well against my fair skin tone. It also gives a powdery look once applied and a powder is not needed afterward. I paid about $17 for it on ebay. I do not think it was a bad buy but its something great to add to my collection.

VOV Glow Lip Rouge

The VOV Glow Lip Rouge is a great lipgloss. The color shown here is number 4. The box first off has a beautiful flower design on it and the "Glow Lip Rouge" is embossed with a metallic shimmer.

The cap of the lipgloss has the same pretty floral design on it. The patterns on the VOV glosses remind me of something that CLIO would do. The design is very artsy.

One swipe of the color gives a rich pink color. There is no shimmer in this color. The gloss is not tacky and it has a pleasant smell. Its stays on for about 30 to 40 mins before you have to reapply it. I bought it for a great price on Gmarket. I believe it only comes in about 5 shades.

Etude House I Can't Stop Smiling - Spring Collection

I have had this collection for a few days and I just could not wait to post on it but with the holidays it has been hard.

So first the prettiest part of the collection is the I can't stop smiling blush pearls.

The puff in this is so beautiful! The bottom of the puff is a pink velvety puff but the top is an angelic fluffy bow!

Below is the multi color pearls. Despite this being protected in shipping, most of my green pearls were broken. Of course as most asian blushes, it is not a blush. It is more of a highlighter. I did not swatch the highlighter because I could not get a good picture of it. It really just gives a pretty light pink sheen. The pearls are more chalky and more powdery than shimmery. So in my opinion it has a texture like a blush but looks more like a soft highlighter.
The next part of the collection is the "Smile" perfume. I purchased it in the jelly form. They do sell it in a neat lace bottle as well. Well this perfume is kinda strong. It smells like most asian perfumes in my opinion. It is very heavily scented but it does have a nice lemon smell in the background. I put a little on my wrist and I had a headache for hours =(
Below is a cute little kit that I heart so much. It has for little containers each with something different.
When you turn over the containers, the bottoms have a special shape in the plastic such as a heart or star. They really payed attention to the detail.

So the yellow star is a cake fragrance in the scent of "Smile", the "star" is a pink blush cream, the blue heart is a silver cream shadow that unfortunately creases like mad but if you mix it with some powder is helps prevent the creasing. The last container is a clear orange sheer gloss that smells like the "smile" fragrance.

When it comes to color and overall performance, the lipgloss collection is the best. These smell like berries and have a great color payoff! I just love the boxes in this collection! I just do not want to throw any out!
Left to right: The berry color gloss is more of a light pink shimmer gloss, the middle gloss is a very light pink gloss but with purple iridescence and last is a red berry gloss that has no shimmer. All of these are truly lovely.

So I am wearing an Etude House Eyeshadow Palette. One of the limited editions ones in which they had the dark eyeshadows. I have navy blue on the bottom, the gray and purple on the middle of the lid, and then over the whole eye lid I have the white shimmer.

I am also wearing the Dior Iconic Mascara. I must say I think I have achieved the perfect "fan" with this mascara.

Once again I love the recent collection by the Body Shop. I am not sure if L'oreal helped them with this or not but it is a huge improvement to their makeup line! Check out my earlier review on the 02 palette in this collection.

The colors are so rich! The packaging is so pretty and glamorous! Also the little drawer at the bottom is nice if you want to put a lipgloss in there!

So here are the colors swatched on my hand. My favorite color is the one in the middle. It is a copper orange shimmer color.
I used all the colors on my eye. The yellow on the upper lid by the eyebrow, the copper on the outer eye lid and the lighter green on the inner eyelid and the dark green on the base. Then I took the white-ish gold and put it all of the eye and then I blended everything!

Lioele BB Pressed Powder

I love the package of this powder! It has a quilted pink shimmer fabric under the plastic container. Also I love the logo of this company because it reminds me of the Disney Princess Carriages!
The applicator is very nice in this pact. It is very soft and has a velvet feel when touched. It also holds on to the powder nicely.
The powder does have some shimmer. But it is so minimal that you cannot see it when applied. Also the smell is nice. It is a heavier floral scent but I have smelt ones that are stronger. It is about the strongest that I will go when it comes to scents in powders.

The formula of this powder is different then others in that it has a more loose consistency and a more baby powder like texture. I can tell it does not have a lot of fillers holding it together like most powders. Actually I like it better this way because it feels more natural when applied.

This is the color number 23. This is a little lighter than other 23s. I did not swatch it because it can barely be seen on my hand since its actually a perfect match.

I bought it on Gmarket from the Lioele seller. They gave me so much free stuff! It was crazy! I bought three things from them and they have me 4 full size items, tons of minis and some coupons.

I highly recommend this company for the quality and price!

Jones: A shimmery medium to bright orange. The only orange by UD.

Vert: An iridescent green shimmer! Really a neat color! My fave of the 5.
Elderado: A yellow gold shimmer with heavy flakes!
Electric: A bright matte blue! A neat super matte eyeshadow. Very pigmented.
Purple Haze: A deep purple iridescent shadow!

Dior Diorshow Iconic Mascara

I actually really like this brush. It is one of those hard plastic bristle brushes. Usually there is only 2-4 rows of those type of brushes. However this one has like 6 rows of the plastic bristles. I feel that the more plastic bristles that there are, then the more likely your eyelashes are to stay straight when you apply mascara. The regular wire like bristles are nice for volume but often at the end of the lash where the mascara extends them, they often start to bend and not stay straight.
The brush does not deposit a lot nor does it give a lot of volume. But it gives a great natural look. It also in my opinion gave me the closest look of the perfect "fan" lashes.

Today I am wearing Laneige Eyeshadow in Y437 Gold prism. Etude House eye shadow BR302 to make the smoke and Cyber Colors Pink Quartz 05 on the top of the eye. I am also wearing Maybelline XXL Mascara with primer. For my liner I am wearing, Rimmel Soft Kohl in black. I smeared it with a smudge brush.

BEYOND FRUSTRATED!!!!! Suki Pure is Suck-y Pure!

Suki Pure or Suck-Y Pure? That is the question.

So I had a lovely little post about a day ago on this cheap little brand from overseas that I love! But because that name of the company exists in the US in which they sell different products, I am not allowed to post on it because they have a similar name trademarked for the US even through my product is from Korea. The brand has two words Suki Pure and only the first word is the same! To all my viewers, can you figure out which post over the last two days has been taken down?

I got sent a threatening email that they were going to forward it to their attorneys by Monday if I did not take it down! Also they only emailed me in the middle of the day today, Friday! How unprofessional! They have given me barely any notice! Plus to top it off, their email subject said Important and Urgent and it went to my spam box! Also they accused me of trying to sell my stuff! If they read my blog, all I did was post pictures of it!

They said the problem will be resolved if I take it down, but all they did was make a problem for me. As a cosmetic chemist for a major billion dollar company, I bet that Suki Pure customers are not happy with their customer service.

In fact, I have read several blogs now on this brand and one person said, I quote "Suki Color my ass. This thing should be called Suck-y Color because thats basically all this thing does. It sucks and it sucks hard"

Also this company over charges for things that are made with vegetable oil, shea butter and all cheap stuff that you can buy and make yourself. Do you want to make natural stuff cheaply? Go to www.DIYcosmetics.com. They sell all the organic ingredients to make everything!

Lastly, I work with several chemicals that are in the ingredients that many natural/ organic companies are saying are bad for you. First off they have no facts to back that information. Secondly, the FDA regulates what is deemed safe to go in cosmetics. So if you trust the FDA with your food and things that go in your body, why would you not trust them with cosmetics?

Do not over pay for something that is "pure", when in all honesty those "pure" ingredients are super cheap!

The answer is Suck-y Pure! Meaning they purely suck! Wow its great being able to voice an opinion since we live in the land of FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND FREEDOM OF CHOICE

I got a super good deal on these scrubs by the Isle of Eden. I heard of this neat little company from the Muse. I got a 50% off deal plus a free scrub! So I ended up getting 4 scrubs for only $27.00 with shipping! How crazy is that?

Also these are full size~ 10 oz! I chose to have the tops decorated. Its free so why not! Basically all they do is add glitter. It is nothing like it looks on the internet though!

The scrub is pretty abrasive and it does not have a lot of oil in it. It does have several natural oils but it is mostly sugar. It super exfoliates and it does turn into a creamy fluff! It does not leave a scent on you after using it unfortunately. Also it does not leave much moisture behind. Either way if you can get these cheap they are worth it because they smell lovely, they super exfoliate, and they are cute! I also even tried this on my face! It really removes dead skin cells!

The first scent is Aquamarine Dream! It smells like sweet sugar!

Carnival of Doom from the Halloween Collection. Smells just like an orange cream-sickle.
Banana Vanilla Cake. Smells just like Banana with a fluffy light vanilla cake scent!
Chocolate Cappuccino- Smells just like the name. Its a good pick me up or even good when you are on a chocolate crave!

Pixi Lumi Lux Eye Palette

Another UK brand! Pixi by Petra is a popular UK brand. You can buy them at Target as well. One of the original creators of this brand created POP Beauty as well, which can be found at Sephora. Rumor has it that Sephora will soon pull this brand. Either way Pop Beauty and Pixi use the same ideas and formulations in their products. I also suggest to try out this brand! I am going to be posting some pics of their small eyeshadow palettes. These are also nice.

This palette is not cheap it was $38 but I have to say you get an amazing amount of colors! From dark to light to shimmers to metallics!

The palette is encased in a gold foil looking packaging. It looks like a cute clutch! One downfall is that there is no brush or applicator so you have to bring one in your purse!

This is a swatch of the dark side and light side. I have to say the most fun part of doing these swatches was just wiping my whole arm across the palette. The swatches came out so perfect!

Then I took both my arms and rubbed one arm against the other and I created these neat combo colors!

JK Jemma Kidd Hi-Design Eye Color I-Design

So I had heard of JK Jemma Kid because of the Muse's blog. It is a neat little brand that is based out of the UK. They sell the Jemma Kidd line at Target and what's great is that they have testers for them! How many times do you go into stores and you cannot test them! Well maybe because this is an expensive brand for Target. They eyeshadow price is $18.00. That is the price of an Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadow! Well honestly they are just as high quality and as high pigmented. The packaging is not as cute. The packaging is similar to Shu Uemura.

Jemma Kidd has another line called "Jemma Kidd Makeup School". The line is definitely more expensive but sadly it is the same thing as the regular JK Jemma Kidd line! You would think it would be different but its basically the same stuff!

From the Hi-color collection. The color on the left is modernist and the color on the right is artiste. The eyeshadows have JK impressed all over them. The difference between the Hi color collection versus the I color is that the Hi color is more intense in shades. The I color is less intense but just the same pigmentation.The color on the left is similar to Urban Decay Asphyxia but more purple. It still has the purple iridescent in the background. The color on the left is a green with a yellow/gold background.
The color above is vintage and it is in the I color line.
As you can tell it is just as pigmented but the color is not as intense.

Overall the quality of this brand is great! I also love the that the shadows are in pink pans! If you like Urban Decay or Too Faced, this is definitely a brand to try!
